The XYZ brand wines constitute modern styles of Hunter Valley Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz. New Generation wines.

2024, devoid of problem weather was set to be a great Hunter vintage. Low crops, an event free growing and ripening period, coupled with warm and rain free ripening weather in December and January, produced exceptional Shiraz fruit. Fantastic colour and flavour across the board.

Both the Shiraz and Marsanne were sourced from the ‘Lochleven’ vineyard in Pokolbin, both blocks planted in 1973.

A bright dark Crimson colour, aromas of dark fruits, blueberries and blackcurrants. The Marsanne influence is more on the nose inducing lifted fruit aromas. The French oak adds spice and nutty complexity. Tannins are silky and fine with an impressive length of flavour for an entry level wine, the end result of a great vintage.

Medium to long term. 10+ years.
