BLACK was originally meant to be a one-off commemorative wine, the thinking being 2011 was a fantastic Hunter Valley Shiraz vintage which coincided with our 20th vintage release. The BLACK has subsequently been released from the 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2024 vintages.

BLACK was originally meant to be a one-off commemorative wine, the thinking being 2011 was a fantastic Hunter Valley Shiraz vintage which coincided with our 20th vintage release. The BLACK has subsequently been released from the 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2024 vintages.
The best three barrels were carefully selected from our 2024 Shiraz sources.
Whilst 2023 was a great Hunter red wine vintage, for us, 2024 has proven to be better again. The 2024 Shiraz has a great depth of flavour and colour, and more importantly, impeccable fruit acid balance.
A deep crimson with purple hues in the glass. There is concentrated dark and brooding fruits. The palate is medium—full bodied with a supple and silky mouthfeel. The length of flavour and balance is exemplary.
This wine has all the characteristics that are required for very long term cellaring.
Red meat dishes and aged cheeses.
