Over the years we have concentrated on single vineyard Shiraz, until the first release of the BLACK Shiraz from the 2011 vintage. The inaugural release of the Estates Blend Shiraz is from barrels that just didn't make the cut for the BLACK.
2023 was a sensational vintage that produced great Hunter Shiraz with flavour and depth.
Three vineyards in Pokolbin. ’Homestead’ vineyard, ’Lochleven Estate’ vineyard and ’Roche Estate’ vineyard were the sources.
A good crimson colour in the glass and the nose shows concentrated red fruits and a hint of blackcurrant. The palate which is solid medium-bodied, is svelte but flavoursome. Fruit and oak are in harmony and this wine has an exceptional length of flavour.
This wine has all the characteristics that are required for medium to long term cellaring. 15+ years.
