‘Alexander Munro’ Shiraz is our flagship wine and made from the best parcel of shiraz fruit we harvest each year.

The Roche Estate vineyard in Pokolbin’s ‘dress circle’, is the Shiraz source for this wine. The vines are well established and mature, having been planted in 2001.

2023 was a great overall Hunter vintage for both red and white varieties. Grapes ripened evenly with limited disease, producing balanced fruit flavour to sugar and acid levels. A classic medium-bodied vintage.

A bright crimson red colour, with red and black berry fruit characters on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with spicy plum and dark cherry flavours. A quintessential Hunter Valley Shiraz with great balance and length of flavour.

This wine has all the characteristics that are required for long term cellaring. 30+ years.
