Pioneer Hunter Valley winemaker, Alexander Munro was winemaker, Rhys Eather’s great-great-grandfather and these true reserve wines are released only in years that reflect the status of the label. The 2000 vintage was the Trophy winner at the 2000 Hunter Valley Wine Show for current vintage Chardonnay.

The low cropping old-vine ‘Casuarina’ Vineyard located on Hermitage Road in Pokolbin was again the Chardonnay vineyard source for the most recent 2024 vintage.

2024 continued the momentum of great vintages for white grapes. Mild weather for growing and harvest allowed optimal fruit set resulting in grapes with great sugar / acid balance. Overall a brilliant vintage.

Stone-fruit with rockmelon nuances typify the nose. Attractive toastiness from the Siruge French oak enhances complexity on both the nose and palate. The palate is medium weighted, crisp, fresh and clean. This Chardonnay has excellent balance and length of flavour.

Medium term. 6—10 years.
