Background

Derived from Greek roots, Stratos means “layer” or “spreading out.” The name also signifies the concept of reaching new heights, much like the expansive skies or stratosphere. Stratos is our "white Black" — a bold statement that highlights its unique character and depth. 2024 marks the inaugural release of our barrel-selected Chardonnay, crafted to showcase complexity and elegance.

Winemaking

2024 was a great follow up vintage to the high quality 2023, yields were good across varieties, however not at the expense of quality. The growing season and harvest were rain and event free. Overall, a great vintage.

Tasting Notes

This Chardonnay presents a lovely, light, and bright straw color. On the nose, it is unmistakably Chardonnay, with delicate hints of subtle oak influence that add complexity without dominating. On the palate, the oak becomes more apparent, imparting a creamy texture reminiscent of light malo-lactic influence. Flavors of ripe nectarine and stone fruits shine through with elegance, vibrancy and balance.

Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential

Kept in ideal conditions, the 2024 Stratos Chardonnay will develop and improve for a decade and beyond.
