Hunter Valley, New South Wales
An individual vineyard Semillon from the 'Lochleven Estate' Vineyard in Pokolbin.
$35 each
The name Pokolbin as legend has it, is derived from the early Hungarian migrant settlers to the area and means ’hot as hell’ or ’hell hole’, referring to the hot, dry and sometimes inhospitable summers that regularly reach 45º C. No ‘Hell Hole’ Semillon was made in 2020.

Semillon
750mL
2022 was a great follow on vintage to 2021. Cool and wet conditions prevailed most of the growing season which suited the delicate Semillon variety. Natural acid was at its peak and bodes well for great cellaring potential.
The wine is made from fruit harvested off a 49 year-old Semillon block on the Kindred family’s ‘Lochleven Estate’ vineyard in Pokolbin.
A very pale colour, the nose has wonderful lemon & lime zest aromas. The palate is flavoursome, but tight and alive with mouth-watering acid. Fresh and lively with an excellent length of flavour.
Long term. 15+ years.
Fresh seafood.
