Wine Details

Hunter Valley
White Wine
Alcohol Volume
Screw Cap
The ‘Terracotta’ wines get their name from the soils on which the fruit is grown. These red basalt/clay soils are renowned for their low fertility thus reducing the yield of the vine and increasing fruit concentration.
Vineyard Notes
A small parcel of Semillon was harvested early from a high block on the Kindred’s ‘Lochleven’ vineyard in Pokolbin.
The fruit was hand picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. There was no oak maturation with bottling taking place in August 2014 under screwcap. This wine was cellar matured for 4 years prior to release in early April 2018. 2014 has been heralded a great all round Hunter Valley vintage. Perfect growing and ripening conditions produced abundant quantities of pristine fruit. The overriding feature of all 2014 wines are their perfect pitch, balance and immense length of flavour.
Tasting Notes
There is slight development on the nose of alluring warm toast and lemon curd aromas. The colour does not indicate much change at all and remains a bright light straw colour with green tinges. The palate is flavoursome with hall mark citrus flavours before a long focused finish.
